Delete your JEMEDIA account

You can delete your JEMEDIA account, and the personal data we hold about you, at any time. It is free.

Before you start

• Delete your data from connected services first. Services you sign in to with JEMEDIA keep their own data, and you need your JEMEDIA account to sign in to them. For Verified Handles, go to verifiedhandles.org/management-console/account and choose Delete account.
• Download a copy of your data if you want one, at auth.jemedia.xyz/account/export.

Delete your account

1. Go to auth.jemedia.xyz/account/delete and sign in.
2. Check the list of connected services you have used, and the links to delete your data from each.
3. Confirm it is you, if asked to sign in again.
4. Choose Delete account. We will email you to confirm.

If an organisation you belong to requires its administrators to approve deletions, your request is completed automatically within 30 days if they do not act sooner.

If you cannot sign in

Email privacy@jemedia.xyz from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. If you no longer have that address, tell us and we will ask for something else to confirm the account is yours. We complete requests within one month.

What happens when you delete your account

Erased straight away: your profile, email address, name and picture, password, passkeys, two-step verification, Google link, organisation memberships, the permissions you gave to connected services, and records of the terms you accepted. You are signed out everywhere, and connected services are told to end your sessions.

Kept for a limited time: security logs, for up to 1 year, and backups, which expire within 1 year. We also keep a placeholder record with no email address, name, picture or password.

Deletion is permanent. You can create a new account with the same email address later, but your old account cannot be restored.
